SEISMIC HAZARD ASSESSMENT IN SPAIN FOR APPLICATIONS RELATED WITH NUCLEAR SAFETY

Entities participants: Grupo de Tectónica Activa y Paleosismicidad (UCM), Grupo de Ingeniería Sísmica (UPM)
Financied by: Consejo de Seguridad Nuclear (CSN)
Duration, from: July 2009  to: July 2012   Budget: 196.740,00 €
Principal Investigator: B. Benito   Number of participants: 15

The main goal of the project is the compilation and update of all data and models that are relevant in the field of seismic hazard, specially for sites of critical facilities such as nuclear power plants. The charaqcterisation of active faults and their inclusion in hazard calculations will receive specific interest. A new seismic hazard map of Spain will be developed, An assessment of the impact of  uncertainties on the final results will be carried out.
