El Hierro was declared in yellow phase

El Hierro seismic activity continues to increase since midmonth. Last march 31 was the strongest event with magnitude 4.9. The quake caused landslides in Breña, in Pozo de la Salud, and it is not only was felt in El Hierro but also in Tenerife, La Palma and La Gomera.

It has been declared the yellow phase and the National Geographic Institute forecasts indicate an unfavorable phenomenon, therefore prevention messages and self-protection will be given at specific risk areas.

Actually this area has not stopped shaking for 2 years, but since the focus is on the high seas, for these earthquakes are felt by the population its magnitude must be greater than 3 degrees.
